Don’t Call It a Comeback

Eight and a half solid years after my last post. Damn right this is a comeback

There is a twitter hashtag #WhyIJoinedTwitter so I thought I’d chip in. I joined in January 2009, but have no recollection of doing so. I though I’d check my old, neglected (and presumed dead blog) to firstly see if it was still accessible and secondly to see if I’d written about joining twitter. The blog was still there, I found a couple of relevant posts and pushed them out to the hashtag. More than that thought, just seeing the old blog again got me a teeny bit nostalgic. Back then, for a few years,  blogging was such an important part of my life. It got me though some tricky post transition years, helped me tell a bit of my story as to how a 35 year old seemingly all of a sudden jumped genders. I made friends through blogging that have followed me through to twitter. It brought me closer to my brother. It felt fun, creative, cathartic, and important and yet it didn’t last.

As I tweeted more and more, and even got heavily into the The Facebook thing and my blogging slowly faded away into the distance. Daily posts, became weekly, became monthly, became nothing. Where once I would happily spend a whole evening crafting, for instance, a pretty long piece about a quiz night (I wrote loads of these, even though I can’t for the life of see who else would have been interested), or another chapter in my journey to Jenny, I was now content to tweet and facebook. I connected more, maybe, but I created less and the connections felt shallower.

Anyway enough wallowing for now, back to the comeback.

I did the why I joined twitter tweet, and got all whistful.
I wonder .... ?

I presumed my blog was dead. A old fading picture in the internet’s attic. A relic of yesternet.
But you never know !
There is a log in button 🤔
It still works
What the bloody hell was my blogger.com password ?
Was it xxxxxxxx ?
Blimey I’m in

And here I am, and YES I’m going to blog again. YES. Well at least I’m going to intent to blog again, and that’s a start

Not only is the blog still there, the RSS feed still works and made the move from Google Reader to Feedly.

Hope all is well with you Jenny.
