To start a thread, against your better judgement, on a dangerous and slippery slope over which you have no control over where it goes but it's final destination seems somehow pre-ordained. Once you've started you must see it through to its conclusion while it scares you sensless and you wonder whether it'll turn you upside down and leave you with a headache
